Red Ring of Death
When Microsoft created the Xbox 360, they decided to utilize an innovative way of attaching the heat sinks to the mainboard. During normal operation, the temperature inside the box gets extremely hot, and this causes the motherboard to buckle, and it is this buckling which results in solder joints connecting the processor to the board to come away. The fault is indicated by those famous three red lights. The more modern Xbox 360 Elite was designed slightly better and does not suffer from this condition.
