Celebrex celecoxib
Pfizer 200mg 100 capsules
is a drug called a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drug which works by reducing the hormones that cause pain and inflammation. Its generic name is celecoxib. There are a number of drugs in the same class.
As one of the NSAIDs
is used to treat inflammation or pain that is a result of a number of medical conditions, including menstrual pain, arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Celebrex may also be effective in treating hereditary polyps of the colon and other conditions.
Side effects of
There is a wide range of side effects that can occur when you take
over a period of time. As with any drug you take for the first time look out for a rare but possible allergic reaction, identifiable by hives, swelling of the throat, lips, face and tongue or a difficulty in breathing. If you experience an allergic reaction seek treatment at an emergency room as soon as possible.
Other serious side effects include: chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speech, vision or balance problems; black, bloody or tarry stools; vomiting blood or coughing blood; urinating less than usual or not at all; nausea, pain in the stomach, low fever, appetite loss, dark urine, jaundice; Sore throat; headache with blistering, peeling or skin rash; bruising, severe tingling, numbness or pain. If you experience any of these side effects contact a doctor immediately.
Less serious side effects include an upset stomach, mild heartburn, diarrhea or constipation; bloating or gas; dizziness, nervousness or headache; blurred vision; ringing in your ears.

How to take
Take
exactly as your doctor prescribes, for as long as your doctor prescribes. If you take Celebrex celecoxib over the long term it may affect other non-related blood test, talk to your doctor. Your doctor may also ask you to undergo regular blood tests to check for any unwanted effects.
