Haunting, Bitter Sweet Lyrics
Take a look at these words: “As long as the wrong feels appropriate it’s like I’m in flight; High off of love, drunk from my hate, It is like I’m huffing pain and I love it the far more I suffer, I suffocate.” It can be said that adore and hate are extremely close. Both emotions are intense and both can be controlling. The words are haunting and seem to vibrate with despair. Then the next words, “And proper just before I’m about to drown, she resuscitates me.” Perhaps this song is stirring up the bitter sweet memories we all have of relationships that we know will not last, but we have a tough time walking away from them.
Due to their own personal activities, it can be doubtful that Rihanna and Eminem are promoting domestic physical violence. Instead, they are realizing it for what it really is. It does exist and each and every individual must deal with the violence in their way, in their time. We need to be greatful that this horrible reality was brought to light by Rihanna and Eminem.
