Christmas is an event of great celebration in whole of Europe and so does in the France. Almost whole of the world celebrates Christmas over 25th December but the France hold its uniqueness in a way that Christmas is being celebrated on different dates in different provinces of France. In some provinces it is celebrated on 6th, in some on 8th and in others on other dates. Very different rituals and customs are performed over Christmas in different parts of France. Whatever changes or gets different one thing associated to Christmas remains same in every part of the world and that is giving gifts over Christmas. Gifts are like a definite custom attached to the Christmas celebrations.

Christmas is one of the most important religious and cultural event celebrated by Christians and even many of the non-Christians all around the world. There are certain traditions attached to the event in which gifting is most likely one by all. Popular modern customs of the holiday include gift-giving, music, an exchange of greeting cards, church celebrations, a special meal, and the display of various decorations; including Christmas trees, lights, garlands, mistletoe, nativity scenes, and holly. Tradition says that we must treat each other kindly during Christmas. Maybe that is the reason why the tradition of giving Christmas gifts has spread far and wide. By giving holiday gifts, we show that we care about each other.
