Bones was created by Hart Hanson, the television is based loosely on the life of Kathy Reichs, an author and forensic anthropologist, who also produces the show. The heroin, Temperance Brennan is named after the protagonist of Reichs’ crime novel series. Dr. Brennan writes a successful mystery novels which is based on a fictional (in the Bones universe) forensic anthropologist named Kathy Reichs.
The show focuses mainly on an unlikely alliance between forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Bone Brennan and FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth. Brennan is the team leader and central character of Jeffersonian Institute Forensic Sciences Department it’s fictional. They investigate Federal legal cases by examining the human remains of potential murder victims. Dr. Brennan and her team use scientific expertise and Special Agent booth’s perspective of the FBI’s criminal investigation techniques. In addition to the murder cases-to-be, featured in each episode, the series explores the backgrounds and relationships of its present characters. The television series is also known for its dark comedic undertones to in essence, lighten the gravity of the show’s intense subject matter.
