Winter in Zakopane

Over the last few days winter in Poland (especially in winter capital of Poland – Zakopane) has begun. What does it mean?

As I mention Zakopane is the winter capital of Poland. Zakopane and its surroundings is full of variety of ski lifts and other winter attractions. Zakopane transfers – is it worth? Look below.

Ski Jumping

One of the most famous attraction in the world is springboard. Every year in Zakopane take place the World Cup competitions in Ski Jumps. The most famous ski jumper in Poland is Adam Małysz, who is also well known in the world. He has won at World Cup competitions, Olympic Games and much more. The competitions held in Poland in a great ambience. Ski jumpers like it very much.

Ski lifts

Ski lifts in Zakopane and its surroundings are suitable for beginners, intermediate and upper intermediate. There are platter ski lifts, but also chair ski lifts. Kasprowy Wierch is one the mountain where is one of the longest ski slope. Of course ski slope are not so great as ski slopes in the Alps.

Mountains

Zakopane is located at the bottom of Tatra Mountains which are alpine mountains. In winter force levels avalanche danger, so people should be very careful. People also have to possess the mountaineering equipment like climbing-irons, pickaxe or warm windproof clothing. If you be careful you can enjoy breathtaking views.

Entertainment

After active day on the ski slope you can relax in regional restaurants with regional music and regional meal. Some guest home have possibility of playing table tenis, billards, football, swimming, going to sauna, spa, dancing, watching TV and more attractions like sleigh ride with campfire.

So if you will come to Zakopane you shouldn’t get bored. Of course not only skies, but also snowboard is popular on ski slopes.
